Here are the control maps and the Steve’s report from the Wensleydale weekend. On the day results are in the previous posts (Tim is working through some rider queries so the final results will be posted here shortly).
Thanks to Steve Willis for planning an excellent weekend, so good that the 2025 event is already in the diary for 20th & 21st September at the Dales Bike Centre in Swaledale! Mark your calendars!
On the Saturday event over 40 riders enjoyed the dry tracks west of Askrigg but noticed that it was slightly breezy. By Sunday it was dull and damp but not as windy for the 42 riders today with plenty of route choice on the north and south sides of this beautiful valley.
Thanks to the landowners and keepers for allowing us to use their private tracks. (You are welcome to use them at any time as long as you remember to close all of the gates and turn back if you encounter a shooting party between September and January).
Andy Conn took it easy today so Martin Edwards scored the most points but as he hadn’t ridden on Saturday, the overall winner was:
- Ifor Powell (M50) with 830 points.
The other prizewinners were:
- Paul Dobson M60 733
- Carmen Elphick W040/50 557
- Helen Bagley W60/70 430
- Mixed Claire Riley & David Cowgill 640
- Mike Hayward (Ebike) 790
Thanks to:
- Heather Hodgson at Askrigg Camping for a perfect event centre (and interesting environmentally friendly toilets)
- The Bake Well Cafe for their delicious refreshments
- Rob Wiltshire & the Yorkshire Dales Brewery for their hospitality.
- Tim Evans for another excellent map
Details for Cracoe on October 12th for our final event of the season willbe availabe later this week.
