FINAL EVENT – LEAGUE QUALIFIERS ** UPDATED **
Next Event Cracoe – 4th October
Our next event, and the last of the 2025 summer series is, as in 2024, from the excellent facilities at Crocoe Village Hall.
Online entry here – discounts until Monday 29th Sept | online entry closes midnight 2nd October
Last year the event headed South, this year it will head North. 4 hours of biking on the moors between Malham and Grassington taking in fast tracks, built trail, micro nav in villages and some stiff climbs and swooping descents. With recent rain we cannot promise no mud, but many tracks are on well drained limestone. Adrian Parker has been out testing the trails – which span lowland pasture and exposed moor land (see photos from the Reece – can you name the trig point?). Bring a waterproof as even a clement day at the Hall may be blowy on the tops.
The event will be followed by the prize giving for the series and complimentary hot pies for all competitors and the opportunity to buy home-made cake for pudding to support a local environmental charity – Zero Carbon Harrogate.
Swaledale Report and Results (updated)
Results are here (any controls with zero values have been removed) – drop Tim a note with any questions or clarifications).
Here’s Steve’s report:
I can’t remember such a prolonged period of heavy rain. We have already arranged to use this course on Saturday 11th July followed by 4 hours in Wensleydale on the 12th.
Saturday entries will be transferred to our new Swaledale event on July 11th 2026. If you can’t make it, please ask for a refund or for a free entry at another nymbo event.
Please dont ride on any of the private tracks on Barningham or Arkengarthdale moors. We only had permission to use them on Saturday so please stick to the bridleways.
What a difference 24 hours makes (as the pictures show!) . Glorious sunshine following 24 hours of continuous rain so riders could enjoy the rather damp tracks either side of the fast flowing River Swale.
As always, I thoroughly enjoyed checking out the tracks during the dry summer months as it’s such a glorious area. With controls on both sides of the valley it was a tough decision to decide when and where to cross the Swale. Its interesting to look at your routes on Maprun which were very different. Not sure about Andy’s decision to cross the bog through 19 and 24 (for no points) as it was the shortest route between 29 and 9! It can’t have been much fun.
Thanks to everyone for returning with positive comments and congratulations to the category winners.

Thanks to the keepers for letting us use the private gravel estate tracks, DBC and their staff for making us welcome and Tim for drawing an excellent map. We realise that the minor roads weren’t obvious so we will highlight them in future. Hopefully we’ll see more riders at our final event in Cracoe on October 4th. Enter here!

What a difference 24 hours makes. Glorious sunshine following 24 hours of continuous rain so riders could enjoy the rather damp tracks either side of the fast flowing River Swale. Lots of positive comments from riders as they finished but I’ll write a full report when I’ve seen the results tomorrow. Swaledale weekend in 2 weeks – have you entered yet?
Steve Willis has been hard at work on the two 4 hour courses for our Swaledale weekend. You can ride just the Saturday or Sunday if you wish, but as camping for Friday and Saturday night is included in the entry fee, why not make a weekend of it.
The best value option is to enter before the online discount ends on Monday 15th, and make sure to add the extra discount if you’re riding both days – that will make the adult rider price just £30 for 2 events.
The event centre is
Dales Bike Centre, Fremington, Reeth. DL11 6AW
registration is 09:30-10:30 and starts 10:00 – 11:00
Day 1 – SATURDAY
You’ll be heading north on Saturday so it’s going to be a tough start and a fast finish. Thanks to the keepers on Barningham and Arkengarthdale East estates for giving us permission to use all of their private tracks. So some new tracks to add to the usual bridleways but please don’t ride them beforehand or they might withdraw their permission!!
Day 2 – SUNDAY
You’ll be heading west on Sunday so thanks to the keepers on Reeth, Grinton and Arkengarthdale West estates for letting us use their private tracks but the same as yesterday. Please stick to the bridleways if you go for a ride beforehand.
Free coffee and cake afterwards from the DBC on both days
Prizes will be presented at 3.30 on Sunday to the weekend winners plus OMM vouchers to the best of those who rode in both events – Wye Valley in May and Swaledale this weekend.
Hope to see you there!
Maps and other details to follow next week.
