Swaledale Report and Results (updated)

Results are here (any controls with zero values have been removed) – drop Tim a note with any questions or clarifications).

Here’s Steve’s report:

I can’t remember such a prolonged period of heavy rain. We have already arranged to use this course on Saturday 11th July followed by 4 hours in Wensleydale on the 12th.

Saturday entries will be transferred to our new Swaledale event on July 11th 2026. If you can’t make it, please ask for a refund or for a free entry at another nymbo event.
Please dont ride on any of the private tracks on Barningham or Arkengarthdale moors. We only had permission to use them on Saturday so please stick to the bridleways.

What a difference 24 hours makes (as the pictures show!) . Glorious sunshine following 24 hours of continuous rain so riders could enjoy the rather damp tracks either side of the fast flowing River Swale.
As always, I thoroughly enjoyed checking out the tracks during the dry summer months as it’s such a glorious area. With controls on both sides of the valley it was a tough decision to decide when and where to cross the Swale. Its interesting to look at your routes on Maprun which were very different. Not sure about Andy’s decision to cross the bog through 19 and 24 (for no points) as it was the shortest route between 29 and 9! It can’t have been much fun.

Thanks to everyone for returning with positive comments and congratulations to the category winners.

Thanks to the keepers for letting us use the private gravel estate tracks, DBC and their staff for making us welcome and Tim for drawing an excellent map. We realise that the minor roads weren’t obvious so we will highlight them in future. Hopefully we’ll see more riders at our final event in Cracoe on October 4th. Enter here!
