Cracoe Report and final 2025 League positions

43 riders enjoyed a bright Autumnal ride around the hills and dales between Grassington and Malham, I think the decision to move from the 4th October was clearly the correct one. This area often formed part of the Malham show event and it was interesting to approach from a different direction and for those of us daft or brave enough to have the Malham climb in the middle of the event rather than the start of the event. Thank to Adrian who had planned an interesting course with no obvious route choice once you had done the first few controls. These early controls had been well designed to take you away from Cracoe avoiding the busy road. Top rider was Andy Conn with 465 points closely followed by Sheila Pearce on her bike just under 2 minutes later. 1st M60 was Mark Rowley with 390 points and it was good to see him back after his Hip op. First Lady back was Sue Booth with 324 points

The results in SI format are available on the BMBO website here.

Thank you all for getting the result on maprun quickly as the final set were sent to the BMBO nation league chairman on Sunday.

It was interesting to look at which controls were visited the most . Adrians course almost set the route in and out of Cracoe so there was only one person we can see who did an out and back before finishing to get one last control as control 2 was visited by all riders with control 20 visited bay one less , unsurprising the least visited control was 28 ( only 8 of you ) the 30 pointer in the far NW corner. I originally planned to visit this but on reaching the track to 7 decided that the 3km ride was a bit too far and as I arrived back 8 minutes late this was the correct decision. I hope the stiff gates didn’t detract from your rides too much and hope to see many of you at our first Winter event on the 8th November in Darley . Thanks to Conrad for the excellent photos and for Jemima Parker for her sterling work sorting out the food after her ride.

Cracoe event postponed to Saturday 25th

The weather forecast as a result of Storm Amy means we’re going to postpone Saturday’s event at Cracoe until Saturday October 25th. All entries will be moved to this date, please get in touch if that’s a problem and we can arrange a refund or transfer. Whilst the forecast might improve we felt it better to have certainty for everyone as early as possible and minimise the risk of late cancellation. See you on the 25th!
