Fountains Abbey 8th October – Update

Hi there

I hope you have enjoyed riding in the recent lovely weather and have already entered our final event of the season at Fountains Abbey next Saturday. If not, please can you enter on the BMBO website by clicking here , by posting a cheque and entry form to Sue Relton or  by replying to this email with your name, age, BMBO (and SI) number?

David Day has planned an excellent course and says – Excellent bridleways and minor roads on the moors north east of Nidderdale and in the valleys of the rivers Skell and Laver

Based on the village hall in Sawley village with adjacent parking on the green, a local caterer will be selling refreshments before and after your ride and Tony Harker will be bringing his Muddybums shop.

The area generally slopes from west to east and consists of a series of parallel valleys (all around the blooming heather!); competitors will use the minor roads, hard tracks & grassy bridleways that crisscross the area, hills are unavoidable but predominately in the west. There are even some easier, nearer controls for junior riders.

National event prizes and National League trophies will be presented at 3.30 followed by the NYMBO prizegiving with T-shirts (sponsored by Muddybums) for the chanmpions and prizes (provided cheaply by Halfords of Northallerton) for the leading riders in all categories.

This winter’s MBO series is nearly sorted and I am just looking for a volunteer planner in the York area for January. Any offers?

In 2012 we intend to organise a similar league to this year. Please let me know if you want to plan an event or if you have any suggestions of new (or old) areas that we should be using next year. We rely on a small band of volunteers at events so please let me know if you want to join them – especially if you would like to help get more riders at our events by offering to take over the publicity.

Hope to see you at Sawley this Saturday or another event this autumn.

Cheers

Steve
