Hovingham results

After 3 weeks of uneventful weather and nice fast trails, Friday night decided to bring sleet and snow! Saturday morning weather was much improved but the roads and trails were left wet and slushy.
Despite this we had a total of 30 riders who braved the conditions and, I hope, enjoyed getting wet, cold and dirty for 2 hours. Thankfully everyone got round safely.
Congratulations to class winners: Generation – Steve and Ben Collins 330pts, Ladies – Karen Blackburn 256pts, Mixed – Andrea & Steve Foster 285pts, Senior Men – Duncan Archer 390pts, Veteran Men and Overall – Martin Vesty 397pts.
Thanks to everyone who turned up despite the conditions, with special thanks to Adrian & Jemima Parker for bringing the Maps & Descriptions and helping me set up signage etc.

Finally just a quick reminder that the next event is at the Squinting Cat, Harrogate on the 16th February.

Thanks to Brendon for keeping the event running despite the weather. Definitely a day I wouldn’t have got on the bike if I hadn’t entered and got all my kit packed the day before! Conditions not as bad as I feared, once I got started. And who else went home and just had to look up City of Troy Maze?

I’d expected it to be quite a grim morning given the conditions on Friday, but it was a great morning – not to cold or foggy; some light snow and lots of slush. Excellent course and a good turnout! Thanks!
