NYMBO Summer Season – Event 6 –  Scarborough

Event 6 of the summer series saw 49 riders take on the bridleways, green lanes and quiet roads north of Scarborough. The air was clear from recent rain and riders were rewarded by a number of sea views on the course. The controls were scattered around Harwood Dale to the west of the main Whitby Scarborough road and Staintondale to the east.

There were some high scoring rides with most of these taking a clockwise route up into Harwood dale and enjoying the fast downhill ride back on and around the cinder track cycleway. Despite the torrential overnight rain there were no reports of large muddy sections on the course and the event remained dry for all riders.

Thanks to Jon Purdy for planning a great course from Scarborough with lots of route choice including The Cinder Track.

Provisional results can be found on MapRun here however there will be some changes due to a control placement error and a few uploads issues. Please report any problems asap and we’ll upload the final results later this week.

Only 5 days to the next event at Paradise farm so remember to enter if you haven’t already.

    Hi

My maprun app seized on my phone so didn’t pick up 27, so can you add me 30 points please if Tim hasn’t done that already. Thanks, and thanks for a great event. It was good to have an event where several nearly cleared it. On the converse side elite riders would have cleared it too easily, a good thing they weren’t there! Tony BB advised me to plan the 1st event I planned, for the average rather than the best riders so well done!
