Struggled like others to locate start of bridleway to cross river so lost some time, timber deck on Wharfe bridge was scary with ice and thin tyres. Helped to read description before I got to the road unlike some.

Decided to go into east Keswick  to keep off the main road. Spent 2 minutes looking for farm machinery!

And you do have to enter the car park the way you came in river did look nice though

Went back on myself and along road through Westwood just to avoid same route twice

Lots of walkers with dogs on railway line at one point thought I may have missed point whilst avoiding some

Decided to go along road as path by golf course gets boggy.  Managed to miss post box in car park as busy reading the signs !

Need to remember that on fast descents likely to be slow climbers on your line and some cars

12.07  direct path back was hard work so decided not to get 8 as not worth the likely penalty points

    Well done Tim, it sounds like you had similar time delays with the mystery machinery to ourselves.

    Had sleepless night last night searching for the odd minute here and there which would have enabled young Max to get back just two minutes sooner for a class win even if we’d have had 60 deducted points instead of 80!

    Always safer to avoid the pesky penalties in that kind of scale, my over ambition was the root cause!
