Map for next Saturday ready for you to study….

Here’s the Grewelthorpe map….

The event centre is at Grewelthorpe Village Hall (GR 231 761 Grewelthorpe Village Hall HG4 3BT West of the A6108, 6 miles NW of Ripon and 3 miles S of Masham)

Parking: Newholme Farm Caravan Park on the Ripon Road into Grewelthorpe (GR 233 758 – Newholme Farm HG4 3DR – 500m S of the village hall.) Please ride to Registration which opens at 9.30 so that you are ready to Start between 10 and 11am.

Here are a few comments from David Day (Course Planner)

Yet another new venue this year – the former Grewelthorpe Methodist Chapel recently opened as a village hall (see website, there is lots going on here). The building includes a community café which will serve food and drinks before and after the event – please support this venture.
The area consists of a complex network of quiet roads, bridleways through farmland and Land Rover tracks on the grouse moors west of the event centre. The purple heather is particularly beautiful at this time of year if riders have time to look around.
At the time of writing there has been so little rainfall that tracks are as fast as they will ever be (cue signal for non-stop rain from now!) There is a ford on the River Laver with no accompanying footbridge which I have never succeeded in cycling through (marked on the map) but alternative routes do exist.

Prizegiving will take place at 3.30 so please stay to applaud the leading riders in both the BMBO and NYMBO Leagues.
Prizes have again been kindly sponsored by Richardson’s of Scarborough and the Yorkshire Dales Brewing Company with engraving by Keith James Jewellers of Richmond – and NYMBO will be providing the highly valued t-shirts as well as a few extra prizes.

Parking is at Newholme Farm Caravan Site on the Ripon Road into Grewelthorpe (not Newhouse Farm – sorry) and here are a few comments from David Day (Course Planner)
