I could be wrong but I think you need to download the ‘event’ into Maprun6 in order for it to know where all the control points are.
Having sat at the Dales Bike Centre cafe many times I can confirm there is zero 4G reception (one of the benefits). So going through this process (not just installing app) might be important.
